Dear Friends of ATP,
Just a quick note to say that unfortunately our forum is down until further notice.
The software we were using was getting too old and could no longer handle the size of the forum and it died of natural causes.
Due to personal committments making me a bit time poor at present, a replacement board may not be up for a while, so until then you can find me on Flickr or by email ;)
Thanks to all of the ATP members that stuck by us. You know who you are and we love you ;)

Spring Has Sprung
Spring is finally here in the Southern Hemisphere and it is such a wonderful change! It feels like it has been winter forever so the sweet smell of flowers and the warm winds of spring are so welcome!!
Thanks so much again to everyone who supported us in the finals of the CWC Blythe Beauty Contest! Both Fran and I really appreciate your support as it was a very 'full on' experience in every sense!
Hopefully soon we will be upgrading the forum so stand by for news on that soon ;)

Forget Me Not in the CWC Blythe Beauty Contest Finals!
Well I'm happy to report that Fran (Frangipani Designs) and I are in the CWC Blythe Beauty Contest this year as finalists and it is so exciting! It was the first year we entered so we are absolutely over the moon!
Our entry Forget Me Not is one of eight finalists in the Natural Beauty section (all the other entries are beautiful too) and we are so proud!

For the people who are needing info on the voting it will be up soon on the http://www.blythedoll.com site. When you get to the site click English up the top, then there is a smallish banner/button on the left hand side called Blythe Beauty Contest, click on that and info should be up soon ;) Online voting will take place from 11:00 a.m. on June 28 (JPT) and voting will close at 5:00 p.m. on July 4 (JPT).
HER STORY
The idea for ‘Forget-Me-Not’ originally came from a love of vintage postcards, which had been written between lovers to each other as tokens of affection. The sweet images on them, which very often included forget-me-nots, were so romantic and beautiful.
The postcards also often included kewpies in their design and this reminded me of the kewpie dolls you see at fairs, which I always thought were extremely beautiful.
Both Fran and I decided that a combination of these key elements would be our main influences to create a doll that is both a nostalgic and modern interpretation of love.
Our base doll was originally a Mademoiselle Rosebud. I wanted to give her a truly unique hair colour that was close to a vibrant rose or watermelon, her eye shadow is powder blue to create a vintage innocent feel and her lips are a classic red.
With her clothing we went for two distinct outfits. Fran has created two gorgeous outfits for her. The Casual outfit is a fun, fruits inspired take on a 70’s style with lovely detailed embroidery of forget-me-nots and bluebirds, with tiny red heart button detail. The Formal outfit is an incredibly finely crocheted baby doll style dress with matching headband and fluffy tulle underskirt. To complete the outfit she has a tiny kewpie doll herself to keep her company.

We've had a makeover!
On July 2007 AddictedToPlastic.com turned 2 years old so like any old dame we decided to have some 'work' done and voila look at us now!
Big thanks to the one and only Stephen (aka Modernism Design) for the sparkling new 'Blythe Box' design the site now has and all the groovy new features like links to the Gallery, Podcasts, Commission Salon and Shop; even this News/Blog section has had a face lift!
We hope you enjoy everything and will bookmark us as one of your favourite places.
